About Stefanie Mann
I have been involved with glass for over 35 years. Until 2 years ago I had lived in Warkworth for 30 years whereas I now live in New Plymouth and love the lifestyle change.
Leadlighting
The majority of this time has been in self employment, undertaking domestic leadlighting/stained glass commissions. My most recent major leadlighting commission was a series of windows totaling 60sqm for the Matakana Village Boutique Cinema and Retail Complex - the largest set of non-religious windows in NZ.
I am happy to design and construct domestic, commercial and architectural leadlights - I also have extensive experience in the restoration of leadlights.
I have tutored leadlighting and kiln glass techniques, and contract to other glass artists.
Kiln Glass
12 years ago I started working with kiln formed glass and thoroughly enjoy the spontaneous creativity this medium allows me. Although I mainly use fusing and slumping techniques, I frequently incorporate a range of other processes.
My main influence is the natural environment and I tend not to intellectualise my work but prefer to let the intuitive process unfold and evolve.
Kiln glass sculpture commissions also undertaken and open to queries.
